Originally hailing from Cuba, Daisy Fuentes moves to Madrid, Spain, when she turned three. Four years after that, she migrated to Harrison, New Jersey. She was chosen to be the weather-girl for a Telemundo station, WNJU Channel station. She then eventually became a reporter and news anchor for the evening news. MTV spotted her talent and immediately selected her to be a host of MTV Internacional, which later turned into MTV en Espanol then MTV Latin America.

Fuentes was then handed a role on Loving, an ABC soap opera. She also appeared on various television shows such as The Larry Sanders Show, Dream On, and Cybill. She also hosted Daisy, which was her own talk show, as well as other events such as the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and even Miss Universe pageants.
