Sarah Michelle Gellar was born in New York City on April 14, 1977. At the young age of four, while eating in a restaurant in Manhattan, she was discovered by an agent and led her to her first movie, An Invasion of Privacy.

She was a familiar face from various television commercials. She also entered the silver screen with teen flicks such as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, and Cruel Intentions. But despite her boosting career and experience of different roles, people seem to find it easier to associate her to Buffy Summers, the award-winning character she used to play in the famous television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

She has recently starred in the American adaptation of the hit Asian horror flick, The Grudge.
